PLATINUM (2024)

Created as a way to process and navigate the emotional journey of watching my husband undergo chemotherapy, PLATINUM is an eight piece painting collection launching July 12th at 10am. Cataloging moments of strength, vulnerability, and love, this collection is for anyone who has battled cancer, loved someone with cancer, or lost someone to cancer.

Why the name PLATINUM? One of his chemotherapy drugs was platinum-based (which is used to treat cancer by interfering with the DNA of rapidly dividing cancer cells.) It is incredibly effective, but also incredibly long lasting; remnants of platinum will remain circulating in his blood for the rest of his life. I named the collection PLATINUM to acknowledge the fact it never leaves- both literally (it will remain in his blood) as well as metaphorically (even after it’s over, the experience forever alters you.)

Look closely and you’ll see small “platinum” metallic touches on each painting.
