Commissioned by the Georgia Council of the Arts, Courtney created a painting featuring the “Sandra Deal camellia” for Georgia’s First Lady Sandra Deal. The painting was presented to Mrs. Deal during the 2018 Governor’s Awards ceremony in thanks for her continued support and encouragement for the arts and humanities in Georgia.
