I was going to say “teaching an old dog new tricks” but 1) I’m not old (I can’t even say middle aged because I hope I at LEAST make it to my eighties and I’m not even 40 yet) and 2) This isn’t exactly a new trick.

Note to self: remember to wear gloves. (Just call me Violet Beauregarde, I guess.)

This moment right here- where I get to see someone experiencing my work in real time- is one of my most favorite things. The studio gets quiet and if you listen closely you almost always hear the deep inhale that comes at the start of really LOOKING

I know this has been around the blog-o-sphere a few times, but I still love the quirkiness of these button "streamers." I just might have to risk the possible finger tip burns (the combination of hot glue, little buttons, and thread sounds dangerous to me) and try my hand at making these!
