I procrastinate packing by going through old photos. This one is from a Braves game a year or two ago. via personal collection
The move is coming up quickly and our home is finally reflecting that. Our artwork is down and bubble wrapped, the drapes are down (rods as well) and all of our "we don't use this everyday so we might as well start boxing it up" stuff is slowly actually getting boxed up. It's a little bittersweet packing everything up though. While it's not the only place we've lived, it is the home we moved to for J to start pharmacy school, where we lived when we got married, and where we'll be when J finishes school next week. It's where we had friends and family over, held Christmas mornings, and celebrated birthdays; it's where my business was started, recipes were tested, and parties were held- even small memories like carrying our kayaks up and down 3 flights of stairs every time we took a river trip, or all 3 of us napping on the floor (that includes Bella) are flooding back with each box we pack. It's amazing how much has happened in the last 4 years, and it only makes me that much more excited to see what the next 4 years will bring (and the 4 after that, etc.)
I heard a quote once by C.S. Lewis that said “Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different....” and it's so true. (And reminds me to focus and appreciate the little things that each day brings.) These next weeks promise to hold a lot of change, and be jam packed with activities and memories and I'm doing my best to slow down and appreciate them all.
With all that said, I hope you all will understand why my links this week are super light. I haven't had a lot of time to surf the internet but I did still want to share a few cool things that came up on my radar.
I would never be able to bath with these. They are just too beautiful!
Doesn't this remind you of those "candle making" shops? You know, where they cut away and bend back layers of the candles to show all the layers?
When we went to Germany a few years back we took a (long) hike through the Black Forest to a restaurant far off the beaten path. There I had the most amazing blueberry pancake of my life. This is the closest recipe I've found for a similar pancake and I'm dying to try it.
J is still trying to get me to share in his love of biking, and this may help his case.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
