Happy (here are some personal ramblings) weekend

Found this awesome "heart tree" on a hike a few weeks ago. via personal collection

So I have to be honest and say that I don't have a ton of awesome links today. Mostly, because I haven't been around the computer much this week. You see, Wednesday I went up to Athens for the Design*Sponge book signing where I had dinner at The National with the lovely ladies Ginny and Erica and finally got to meet Amy and Grace for real, in person. Who are both wonderful and I hope I get to see again very soon.

Yesterday I had lunch with my sister (of here and here in case you were curious) though just knowing she's my sis should be enough to realize this would be a long lunch full of a lot of hand gestures, giggling, and me creeping out her building security guard as I demonstrated the various levels of a "personal bubble." There are three FYI and the latter is an uncomfortably close "intimate" level. It's most famously known for as the level where "close talkers" feel the most comfortable. Anyhow. So we had lunch, and then I strolled home to the office where I "promptly" made up for time until J. came home. (And since I've been asked, no. His name is not "J" I just feel for google reasons I shouldn't bombard the internet with his name. In case you were wondering what it is though, it's on my about page. Yay! Scavenger hunt!!)

Anyhoo. About the time he came home, I was in the middle of these grandiose plans of a Greek feast for dinner. Fast forward an hour and I am about to be physically ill from whatever disaster I just put in the table. It. was. horrible. Starved and too tired to figure anything else out, we drove in the rain (uphill both ways!) to this amazing little Mexican restaurant where we sufficiently stuffed our faces with rolled tacos, guacamole and fresh churros. Fried dough coated in cinnamon and sugar makes everything better. So yea, lesson learned. I am not capable of making Greek food. Or better lesson learned, I should attempt to make Greek food when I really just want to go out for Mexican.

And finally, today was filled with spending time with one of my best friends who I haven't gotten to see as much of this month and then various meetings in the afternoon. Oh, and buying a new carry on suitcase which I rationalized was absolutely necessary for Alt in January because I didn't have a really good carry on and I'd rather buy one than spend $50 getting ripped off for having the airline check one for me. And did I mention it does 360 degree spins? No? Well it does. Which I demonstrated multiple times as I "tested" it out in the store. (It's not longer considered playing after the age of 5- it's researching.)

So yea. That long recap was basically to say, sorry I don't have anything amazing to share today. That is unless you want to learn how to correctly fold dumplings, what Kim Kardashian's divorce can teach you or if you'd like to see a mat job that would drive me crazy.

Hmm. Well look at that. I did have things to share.

Happy weekend, lovelies!
