I saw this over on fred flare and couldn't resist sharing. The men in my family all love hunting (I have mentioned I live in the South, right?) so almost every weekend I get a status update from my dad on whether he saw anything, and if so, whether he "got it." So when I saw this, I couldn't stop laughing. Pretty perfect, right? Think my mom might actually prefer this one over the real thing hanging in my dad's office... if nothing else, it's a great conversation piece!

Velvet Pumpkins

We haven't decided exactly what to do with our pumpkin (yes, I know it's hitting crunch time and it very well might just stay orange :) ), but I saw these and couldn't resist sharing. Would these be great on a table or mantle? I'd love to make a few of them for myself!

Fall is in the Air

I took our puppy (and by puppy I mean almost 3 yr old black lab) out this morning and was immediately hit with a rush of crisp cool air. finally.

In just a few short weeks it will be time to pull out the scarves, the riding boots and the cute sweaters/blazers :) I can't wait to go pick out our pumpkin, drive through North Georgia to look at the leaves changing colors, to drink hot chocolate by a bon fire and stuff ourselves full of s'mores... oh I just love fall!

And you know what could make anyone's fall that much better? To walk around carrying this.

I hope everyone had an amazing Labor Day weekend! Although very busy, it was the perfect end to summer (complete with sore arms from a long day of paddling!)

It's my husband's birthday!!! He is absolutely wonderful and I can't wait to start celebrating once he's back from class.

Now I have to run decorate the apartment and pick up his ice cream cake* from Ben & Jerry's before he comes home! See you all tomorrow :)

*I'm baking his cake for this weekend's festivities, (a football inspired two tiered concoction to not only celebrate J's birthday but also celebrate the long awaited beginning of the UGA football season- yes we are those fans) but for actual birthdays (as in the day of) we have a tradition of buying each other ice cream cakes since they are our favorite kind of cakes!

I found these earrings over on concrete + honey and couldn't get enough of them! I've always had a thing for earrings and these look like the perfect future addition to my collection :)

I just love how whimsical and colorful they are- almost like they popped right off of the pages of a Dr. Seuss book!
