weekend links

Have a great weekend!

one of the views from our hike via my personal collection

We took an impromptu camping trip Wednesday night, which was wonderful, except that we're apparently not too great at "impromptu" things. Because we didn't really plan much at all, we both ended up forgetting a lot of things that were kind of important. Of course, it did make for some hilarious moments (such as me combing my wet hair with a plastic fork little mermaid style because I forgot a brush, laughing like lunatics while we tried to come up with makeshift pillows since we forgot those too, and oh yea, when it came time to make dinner we realized we forgot the part that connects the gas to our stove so we literally had to cook our dinner over the open fire.)

It was awesome. (Seriously.)

Anyhow, because of that mini vacation, I'm behind on my blog reading so this weeks links are going to be a little shorter than normal. Hope you understand.

I think it'd be fun to stay in one of these bubble houses.

This look book has me dreaming of lazy days filled with long naps, picnics, and easy reads.

For posing with an awesome paper moon, that one lady doesn't look as happy as I think I would be.

Amazing DIY tree lamp

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Any big plans?

Weekend Links (Feb 28- Mar 4)

I'm planning on a lot of this action. Photo via mackin ink blog

This week has been a whirlwind of emotions and activity, but this upcoming week is going to be glorious. That's right, glorious. It's J's spring break so I'm closing up the studio and we're taking a much needed vacation to the beach. The laundry is done, the house is clean (I like coming home to a clean house), the house sitter is booked and all I have left to do is wrap up a few loose ends order wise, pack my suitcase and make chocolate chip cookies (because you can't take a road trip without chocolate chip cookies.) I'm so excited I can barely type this. Anyhow, let's get to some of the cool stuff I've seen around the web.

I'm all for making things from scratch. Pesto, marinara, cookies, bread, pasta, pizza... to me it just tastes better. Not to mention I can actually pronounce what's in my food which is always a plus. Now I have another item to add to my list of "things I make from scratch" (which depending on how much time I have is sometimes lovingly referred to as "items that may have been easier to buy.") Guess who is going to try and make their own butter?!  Yep, me. With the help of this.

Of course, making things from hand always makes me think of this, which I find hilarious. And while you're at it, go ahead and procrastinate a little more and read this one, this one, and this one. Ironically- and probably why I think these are so funny-  I do love Arrested Development, I've tried to convince J. to pick strawberries for going on 4 years now, I will wear a jacket with shorts (still don't get uggs and shorts though) and I do love a good sandwich.

Now that I have hopefully made you smile, on to a new topic. It's almost spring and as I have mentioned, I'm being sucked into the trap of needing spring clothes right now. So to keep myself from actually buying things I don't really need, I've taken to just browsing online stores. And while I might still have a problem with Forever 21 ripping off indie designers (no judgments for being on the site please,) I definitely don't have a problem with them collaborating with designers.

Oh and speaking of expensive sandwiches and things I want but might not need (this is debatable of course) I could definitely live here. Doesn't hurt that it's practically next door to the Eiffel Tower.

What I do need though is this vacation, so I'm off to pack. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

have a lovely weekend!

It's not you, it's me.

Measure your days in love.

Two beautiful magazines came out this week: Rue (extra points for anyone who can tell me why I'm especially stoked about issue 3. hint hint page 52 and 264) and Matchbook Mag. Definitely curl up with your laptop this weekend and dive into these!

Be brilliant at the basics of business

Such a beautiful wedding. But what really sold me? They gave out mini loaves of bread as favors (and this girl loves fresh bread.)

I don't think this should be reserved for bridal wear, it's just so pretty! (As in ban.do's new site which was a collaboration with this lovely lady)

Agreed. Clementines are awesome.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Do you all have any big (or little) plans? I'm having a girls night tonight, hoping to have a chance to see Our Labor of Love's Kendrick and David's show sometime over the weekend (see more about that here, and then who knows. (Maybe we'll even get around to watching Inception so we'll know what all of the fuss is about!) See you Monday!

Happy Weekend!

hahaha via here

I've been super busy this week (which is awesome) and have some really exciting news to share over the next few weeks, but until then I thought I'd share a few links I've found from around the web.

J. and I got engaged in the rain, so this engagement session from Paul Von Rieter (via Greylikesweddings) definitely pulled a heart string.

Speaking of engagements, I love this one. He proposed in a fort!

This dress rocks.

I usually paint my own calendars or refer to my (wonderful gold) planner when my days are running together or I need to remember something, but I couldn't help and smile when I saw this letterpress calendar by brown parcel press. Just look at March. There are chickens. And eggs. Perfection!

Oh the lost art of the mix tape. nothing said love like 12 perfectly selected and copied songs. (props if you ever had a radio dedication.)

I want this bike.

Speaking of things I'd like to have, let's throw these on the table as well. How beautiful are those?!

Happy weekend everyone!
