Cool Things

Went to the farmers market today and holygoodness. It was awe.some. I would have bought the entire store had J not reminded me we won't be home this weekend so all of the fresh produce for the wonderful menus I was coming up with wouldn't last. Looks like we'll be back next week!

I did snag a huge container of sundried tomatoes though and used it to make an awesome pasta for dinner. Yummy. Nothing beats pasta. Oh! and we picked up a fresh loaf of challah*. If by chance you haven't tasted the goodness of it yet you have to get some. It is the best bread ever. And the french toast it makes? Heavenly.

On a side note, I've been working a lot on orders lately, but have another endeavor on the horizon. More to come on that later!

Hope everyone has had a lovely day!

* I grew up with a lot of Jewish friends so this bread isn't new to me. If you'd like to read more about it (or learn what it is) click here. Honestly, I was always a little jealous that while we had communion wafers at church, their sabbath included this amazing braided bread. And yes, I am fully aware that neither religion is about the bread, I just think challah is far superior than styrofoam-ish wafers. Just my opinion, though. I won't judge if for some reason you really like communion wafers... :)

Speaking of the boys...

Even if they aren't to wear for the wedding, these are awesome ties!

Let's hear it for the boy(s)

We hear over and over how to show your 'maids personalities, but what about the groomsmen? How about spicing up their attire?

Let's start with the cufflinks. If you two are buying them as a gift for the guys, shouldn't they be something reflective of them? Here are some ideas to get you started!

Hubble Telescope Photos

I'm not a huge space person, but when I saw this I knew I had to share it. It never ceases to amaze me just how small we actually are and how beautiful the world (and universe) around us really is. I try to think about this whenever something is bothering me or I'm feeling overwhelmed. It helps to put it all into perspective- reminding me that everyone has challenging times and that we are all here for a reason. Not to mention how comforting it is to think that someone who created something this beautiful also created us.

Garlands

via here

My husband started his pharmacy internship a few weeks ago and I thought that needed to be celebrated! So on his first day, inspired by the beautiful work of sophie cuvelier and armed with stacks of multicolored paper and fishing line, I was soon stringing our dining room with garlands.

J came home to find me finishing up dinner and after saying hey, he looked past the kitchen and saw the garlands hanging in the background. He immediately started laughing and then picked me up and thanked me with a kiss. I told him how proud of him I was (in addition to everything else he does, the kid has a 4.0 in pharmacy school!), how much he means to me, and how much I appreciate all he does so I can follow my dreams as well.

Some people might think it's cheesy, but I think that sometimes we all need to celebrate the ones we love- whether that be a significant other, family or friends- and thank God they're in our lives.

P.S. The garlands are still hanging in the dining room.
