Amy Atlas

I'm a huge fan of her work and while looking through my files today I came across this image. Wouldn't you love to be greeted with this at a party or wedding? It's so fresh and playful. I just can't get enough of all of the colorful hard candy and lollipops! If you haven't seen her work, definitely check it out here.

Green and White Wedding

There is something so beautiful and natural about a wedding (or party!) with a green and white palatte. The lush greens provide the perfect balance for the pops of white of the flowers, candles, and of course, the bride! I really really love the floating canopy; it's such a whimsical touch! And if you used this as inspiration for a party rather than a wedding, wouldn't this canopy be fun over a dance floor or buffet? Oh! Or what about flying over the entrance to the party? So many ideas! Enjoy!

Cotton Candy on the Beach

This board was inspired by the cotton candy colors of the beach sky. I love how these colors evoke an airy, relaxed, and beautiful feeling to any event. And aren't those flags lovely? Details like those not only bring a subtle drama, but also make the beach breezes work on your behalf instead of against!

Plum, Blush and Fog

I think half the fun is coming up with the names of colors :)

And yes, I'm still on a purple kick.

This board plays up the vintage qualities of purple- utilizing more subdued shades of the color mixed with foggy grays and almost white blushes. Maybe it's the flower shop window or the simplicity of the cake, but this board completely reminds me of Paris. To me, it's a place where even the foggiest of days are magical and full of beauty.

Lilac and milk

Lately I have come to notice how much I have under estimated the subtle beauty of purple. Blame it on the SEC, but normally whenever I'd hear the word "purple" I always thought of LSU* and being a Georgia Bulldog through and through, that isn't a good thing. But now I can't get it out of my head! It's in my paintings, the flowers I pick, the clothes I'm swooning over... everywhere. So why not a wedding? Here's my take on a down home, backyard wedding- complete with centerpieces composed of milk glass and mason jars, fields of wildflowers, and homemade cupcakes with flavored sugar sprinkled on top!

Have a great day!

*no offense to all the LSU alums out there! Of those I've had the pleasure of meeting, I have loved each one of you, but when it comes to football- well you understand :)

Citrus Pop

I love wedding and parties that combine all the warm colors together, and think it is even better when pops of citrus appear throughout the day! Hope you enjoy (and happy Thursday!)

Garden themed

Even though it has been (and looks to continue) raining here for what seems like for.ever, I still can't stop thinking about how pretty a laid back garden wedding would be. This board focuses on combining all that is green from a garden, such as various herbs and shrubs, with beautiful rustic touches such as a tree stump cake pedestal and outdoor chandeliers. Hope you enjoy!

Italian Summer Wedding

I few years ago I studied art in Cortona, Italy (most famous to Americans for being the main location for the movie Under the Tuscan Sun) and that summer still holds some of my favorite memories. With this board I wanted to inspire the simple beauty found everywhere there. Country roads are lined with sunflowers or wildflowers, olive trees peak around every corner, and we can't forget the architecture! Even the colors of a quaint little villa are lovely. Anyhow, the main feeling of this one is that everything doesn't have to match perfectly and to take inspiration from the colors of the landscape. Centerpieces made from bouquets of wild poppies, tables filled with local wines, meats, cheeses, breads and sweets just waiting for a feast and conversation filled with talk of the World Cup (Italy won the year I was there!). Now that's the type of party I would want to be at! Enjoy everyone!
